...

Just a quick 'yello!' since I haven't posted anything too terribly exciting for awhile.. It's been a busy couple of weeks for me with even busier weeks ahead. I'm flying out to Breckenridge, Colorado in a few days to shoot what I am positive will be an incredibly GORGEOUS wedding in the mountains (with an incredibly gorgeous couple to boot!)

Also, I'm VERY excited to introduce a new branch of RE Photography! I've been playing around with boudoir photography for the past few months..  SO fun :) I've had the opportunity to shoot over ten different sessions and I've absolutely fallen in love with it! So keep checking back because within the next month, I'll be unveiling some sneak peaks and teasers of "Delicate Expresions." Can't even begin to tell you how pumped I am!

Thanks again for all of your support! Love you all and hope your holidays were fabulous :)

Best holiday ever.

After weeks of gloating about enjoying unusually high temperatures for mid-December, it would appear that winter has finally showed up in Omaha.

And as much as I claim to hate snow, I can't really say that I mind...

The weather outside is most definitely frightful (to say the least) the tree is decorated, Miles is sufficiently annoyed with life (I'll go ahead and take credit for that) and our only plans for the day include baking and watching Elf.. :)

Christmas season has officially arrived at this apartment! Hope yours is as merry as ours!

Kylee Lamae

It's hard to believe that just a few short weeks ago, I was taking maternity pictures for these two..

On December 5th, Brooke and Sam welcomed Kylee Lamae into the world. In my Facebook post of their maternity photos, I remember predicting that she would be beautiful. And I was wrong.. She's more than beautiful; she's PERFECT.

Congrats to Brooke and Sam, and welcome to the world little Kylee!

"Delicate Expressions..."

For the next few days, I'll be working on putting together some materials and previews for a new (and considerably sultrier) side of RE Photography. Intrigued? Stay tuned.. ;)

Tynessia & Tarrance - engaged, married and fabulous :)

These two will forever hold a special place in my heart; not only because they were my very first clients in Omaha, but for their contagious enthusiasm and genuine hearts.  I would have been hard-pressed to find a better couple to kick-off this new chapter (and location) of Rachel Ebel Photography!

A few short months after wandering around the Old Market for their engagement session, the newly-minted Barlows enjoyed a beautiful fall wedding (but I think there's a pretty good chance I enjoyed photographing it just as much :)

Blogosphere?

I have a confession to make...

When it comes to the "blogosphere" I am completely clueless.

Indicator #1: I'm so clueless that I just used the world blogosphere.. Ahh yep, it really is that bad. Does anyone even call it that anymore? I sincerely apologize for the onset of cringes and mental eyerolls that brought on..

I am terrified to go 'live' with this because there are a million things that I still need to figure out..

(For instance, I will probably never admit how long it took me to figure out how to play music on here. Ever.)

Each small victory brings a million more things to tackle and I keep telling myself I'm not ready.. But with the gracious help of my web designer and support from friends and family, I'm going to ignore the imperfect photo layouts (and my current inability to perfectly position them) my intense indecision in deciding which photos to post.. the lack of the perfect words.. the potential lack of time with my full-time day job... and the fear of showing this to the .. well, the blogosphere.. ;) And I'm just going to let go and go for it. My work has a long ways to go;  each shoot brings mistakes and new lessons learned, but I'm excited to grow as a photographer and even more excited to share that journey with whoever cares to join me!

Thank you so much for checking out the blog and following me on this little adventure of mine. In the days and weeks to come, I'll be posting old favorites and new work.. Stay tuned.. and THANK YOU! I love and appreciate you all!

p.s. Website. Soon. Excited. :)

Baby Cole!

As I sit here, updating my blog to reflect this past year's work, I look back on all the incredible people I've met and photographed and my mind and heart repeatedly re-vist this session. How can it not be a personal favorite?

I was lucky enough to be Libby's college roommate. I was there when she first met Derek, when she first realized that maybe.. just maybe.. he could be more than just the neighbor boy from movie nights, group dinners and prank wars.. and after he proposed, she let me try my inexperienced (yet overly excited) hand in taking a few engagement photos for them.

Two years later, they're married and PARENTS to Cole Matthew.. and one more time, they've volunteered to let me try something new behind the camera. Like his parents, Cole was one of my photography "firsts" and while I haven't had much experience yet with babies, I can for sure say that this session will forever go down as one of my favorites :) Cole is a BEAUTIFUL baby with two absolutely wonderful parents and I can't wait to see the little man he becomes :)
